What is Live dealer?

Live dealer games are casino table games streamed in real time from a studio or casino floor, where a human croupier deals cards or spins a wheel and players bet online.

Players place bets through an interface on screen while video shows the physical game. Cameras and optical recognition read cards and wheel results and settle bets automatically. Common formats include blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game-show titles that combine a presenter with wheels or multipliers.

Because outcomes come from physical equipment rather than an RNG, live games appeal to players who want to see the action. Studios run around the clock and are typically located in licensed jurisdictions such as Malta, Latvia, Georgia or the Philippines, among others.

The house edge in live games follows the rules of the table. Live roulette and blackjack generally have the same maths as their land-based versions, while game shows can carry higher edges. Live tables also tend to have higher minimum stakes than RNG versions because of studio staffing costs.
