What is Crash game?
A crash game is a fast online gambling format in which a multiplier rises from 1x until it randomly 'crashes', and players must cash out before the crash to win.
Players place a stake before each round. Once the round begins, a multiplier climbs, often shown as a plane or rocket. A player who cashes out at 2.5x on a £10 stake receives £25. If the multiplier crashes before they cash out, the stake is lost. Some rounds crash almost immediately.
The crash point is set by an RNG, and the game's RTP is built into the distribution of crash points, so cashing out at any particular multiplier does not beat the house edge. Many crash games show other players' bets and cash-outs live, adding a social element.
Crash games became popular in crypto casinos and spread to regulated markets. Their short rounds and rapid repeat play have drawn attention from regulators concerned about game intensity.
