What is Bonus buy?
A bonus buy is a slot option that lets a player pay a fixed price, often around 50 to 100 times the stake, to enter the bonus round immediately instead of waiting to trigger it.
Instead of spinning until enough scatters land, the player pays an upfront cost and goes straight to the feature, usually free spins. At a £1 stake, a 100x buy costs £100 for a single feature round. The RTP of the buy option is often published separately and can differ slightly from the base game.
Bonus buys concentrate spending and volatility into a short burst. A single purchase can return far less than its price, and repeated buys can use up a budget quickly.
The UK Gambling Commission moved to bar the feature for players in Great Britain in 2019, citing concerns about accelerated spending and loss chasing, so the option is disabled in British versions of these games. It remains available in a number of other markets.
