What is Aggregator?
An aggregator is a B2B company that connects many game providers to operators through a single technical integration, letting operators offer large game libraries.
Instead of integrating separately with dozens of studios, an operator connects once to an aggregator and gains access to thousands of titles. The aggregator takes a share of revenue for the service, on top of the studio's fee.
Aggregators also manage compliance tasks, such as making sure only games certified for a given market are shown there, and providing reporting and promotional tools.
Major aggregators and platform providers are significant players in the B2B market and frequent acquisition targets. Aggregators often also provide tools such as tournaments, jackpots and free spin campaigns that run across many games. Because they sit between many studios and many operators, aggregators have an overview of game performance data across markets, which makes them important partners for both sides. Some large B2B groups combine aggregation with their own studios and platform services, which can raise questions about how fairly third-party content is promoted.
